Their modern site is easily commutable from the Central Belt, Edinburgh, lower Fife and some parts of Glasgow


THE ROLE:

Due to the ongoing success of the company, an exciting opportunity has now arisen for a Supply Chain Manager to join their team.

The role holder has full responsibility for the supply chain function, making strategic decisions and ensuring smooth service provision to the organisation. Leading and developing a successful team is critical to the success of the role.

Key responsibilities to include:

Team Leadership –
• Assume responsibility for all purchasing, planning, supplier management, logistics and sales activities
• Ensure team engagement and performance meets or exceeds company targets
• Grow team in line with anticipated business scale-up
Compliance – Audit Ready Every Day
• Ensure all Supply Chain KPI’s are reported and targets achieved on a monthly basis
• Ensure supplier rating / scorecards are reported on a quarterly basis and any performance management activities are executed
• Ensure all NCR’s, Audits and CAPA’s are closed effectively and within business time targets
Cost of Materials
• Achieve reduction in product cost via price negotiation with existing suppliers and sourcing or new suppliers in Low Cost Regions
Sales and Distribution
• Drive effective implementation of sales / distribution strategy
• Work with QA group to implement effective reverse logistics solution
Supplier Relationship Management
• Develop effective working relationships and implement regular QBR’s with key suppliers


THE CANDIDATE:

Candidates must have vast Supply Chain Management experience within the Medical Device industry (pharma/other highly regulated indsutries may be considered).

Other requirements are:

• Degree qualified (or equivalent)
• Expert knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, ORACLE etc.)
• Strong leader, negotiator, influencer and communicator
• Proven project manager
• Expert negotiation with suppliers
• Expert understanding of full supply chain operation
• Regulatory experience strongly preferred: ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, etc
• Highly effective leader and influencer

Responsibilities:

• Develop, execute and maintain a comprehensive commodity strategy and supporting tactics for global commodity suppliers which serve multiple locations
• Annually develop commodity cost improvement strategies and targets for specific commodities with responsibility for quarterly performance reporting in line
• Source and develop the best all-round commodity suppliers to meet current and future requirements: feature, functionality, volume, quality, cost, terms & conditions and delivery reliability
• Identify opportunities and suppliers that can provide materials which result in clearly identifiable advantage in functionality, quality, price, delivery reliability, logistics, business-to-business integration, currencies and/ or reduced total cost
• Build an unambiguous expectation with commodity suppliers of the need for high quality of product, first class customer service and continual cost improvement

Ideal candidate:

• Degree qualified or equivalent
• CIPS qualified preferred
• Strong purchasing experience gained within a manufacturing environment
• Supplier development techniques
• SAP experience
• Strong negotiation skills
